Rapid Plant ID course

a field-based course on plant identification that provides the core knowledge needed to undertake even basic conservation actions

 

This course provides graduate students, conservation practitioners and volunteers with knowledge and tools for plant identification in the field. This is the most basic skill for initiating plant conservation.

This course also prepare students to undertake plant diversity studies and monitor threatened plants in protected areas and public lands.

During field practices students, conservation practitioners, and volunteers learn to use diagnostic traits and identification keys to recognize native plants and distinguish them from the invasive plants that need to be controlled.
